Before the cruise I was debating between drive to port Canaveral the day before or the same day cruise departure. Since we leave in GA it will take us about 7 Hrs. We can make it, but it would be nice if we can have the day before cruise (it's mean my vacation will begin sooner ;) I looked up for the parking and hotel and the price. It was not cheap and it will add up our expenses quickly :( I was about to give up the hotel before cruise idea until I found www.goportcanaveral.com . I found a good deal with snooze and park (hotel + cruise parking) for least price of the parking at the port alone!!!! I booked hotel at Best Western Titusville with parking at double tree hotel. We didn't need a 5 star hotel for 1 night, we just needed a clean place to stay for a night after reading the review. This hotel seem to fit the bill. We paid $110 for 1 nights hotel and 7 days parking offsite with shuttle. It was a sweet deal to me since parking at the port alone will cost us around $120-$150 (can't remember the price). I read about good and bad reviews about this service, so I'll find out about this by myself!!!!
The day before cruise we were up so early because we're so excited we left the house around 5am. My hubby is a driver. We grabbed some breakfast at chick-Fil-A along the way and headed to Disney springs (at least I got to see my beloved Disney) It took us about 7 hrs. We got there just perfectly around lunch time. Man!!! We haven't been to Disney springs in 2 years, but it has changed a lot!!! We parked at Orange parking lot.
We were trying to find some quick lunch not a full service. My hubby would love to have a burger and I read they have a good review about D-Luxe burger, so we searched for it. I forgot to take a picture of the restaurant itself, but at least I didn't forget the picture of the burger. I ordered blue cheese burger and my burger here was delicious!!! It's real meat and very juicy and huge!!!! and my hubby ordered the El Diablo Burger (it was Chorizo and Signature Blend, Fried Banana Peppers, Pepper Jack, Lettuce, Tomato, Grilled Onion and Chipotle Mayonnaise) my hubby said it was very tasty. My kids ordered a kids meal which comes with fries and chocolate milk.
After the burger we walked to the Lego store. It was a pretty long walk (next time we will park at Lime parking lot) My kids have fun with Legos for a bit. I gave my kids $20+ to spend on a toy, They still haven't made a decision about how to spend it yet. I was looking for MR. Potato head box all you can stuff (my son obsesses with MR. potato head). I tried at Disney store, but it was not there. I finally asked the staff who knows and they told me it was at "Once upon a toy" store. We went there and my kids were in heaven. We stuffed our box with all the Mr. potato head pieces for $20 and bought a potato head for just $3 more. I heard this is the best value toy in Disney!!! We got back to the car with 2 happy kids and ready to go to hotel.
We drove another hour and arrived at the hotel. When I booked I requested the 2nd floor on the back of the hotel room, but when I got there I got a 1st floor in the middle of the hotel. I asked for the 2nd floor room (less noise) and they only had one left in the front of the hotel. I was worry about the noise from the street, but it was no noise at all. The hotel was clean and simple for a night stay (my hubby said not more than that LOL) the breakfast was good. I just grabbed some yogurt and waffles in the room to eat while we got ready.
I ordered it, but the taste is the same as the price. We ordered some raw oysters, crab cake, bang bang shrimp and some fried fish for my girl and mac n chess for my boy.
The foods was descent. The best part of this place was we could see the cruise go by and some dolphins swim when we were eating that made our day.
After the foods the waitress recommend key lime pie. I was so full, but I wanted to try it (I never like key lime pie, but I heard everyone said if you are in this area you need to try one) I ended up ordering it to-go for later (sorry forget the picture). and It was DELICIOUS. I wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more of those key lime pies. That's it the end of my 1st Vacation night. --- tomorrow it's the embark day.
